Political Fund Important Information
We will soon be receiving Political Fund Ballot
The political fund HAS to be in place
Otherwise we are barred by law from engaging in any campaign involving contact with public bodies, or any elected officials, from local councillors right upto MPs and beyond!
The fact that we affiliate to Labour is separate, and is nothing to do with how you vote in the political fund ballot.
PLEASE don't think for one moment that you're voting to support the Labour party by voting yes in the political fund ballot.
If we return a no vote in this ballot, almost everything ASLEF does will be illegal.
A MESSAGE TO EVERY ASLEF MEMBER: We NEED a political fund to function. Please vote YES
Then we can all have the separate debate about affiliation to Labour after we have stopped the powers that be from tying our hands as a union...
